A massive, fiery explosion swallowed a boat and an adjacent dock this weekend, injuring six people, officials said. The incident occurred on Lake Lanier in Georgia on Sunday.
The flames sparked on the boat, and then spread to a jet ski, which drifted toward the dock and caused it, too, to catch fire, reporters said.
Although the cause of the incident is still unclear as the investigation continues, the boat had apparently been refueling at the time.
Three of the six people that sustained injuries had to be transported to the burn unit at Grady Memorial Hospital. The patients, whose names were not released, were 13, 16, and 39 years old.
“Wow,” one reporter tweeted. “This wild new video shows the aftermath of the boat explosion on Lake Lanier this afternoon.”
